Crimsooon Sun is a mystery novel adventure game built around a singular concept: "A mystery adventure that can be played with the same level of focus required to read a mystery novel."
The story is set in Shirase, a regional city in the Tohoku region of Japan. It begins with the return of a university student named Mio, who had been missing for nearly six months. She remains silent about her disappearance. However, a video exhibited at the university festival reveals a disturbing scene: Mio in a wheelchair being paraded down a wedding aisle by a mysterious the Faceless Man, while the Dual Suns are reflected in the window.
Pulling the trigger generates a Note, which may or may not contain additional clues for your deduction.
This is a mystery "novel" adventure. When reading a mystery novel, readers don't always form a perfect, logical deduction like the detective in the story. Often, they rely on vague intuitions:
"This statement feels like a lie."
"This person seems suspicious."
"This description looks like it's related to a trick."
Traditional systems that require players to choose the "correct" branch often clash with this natural reading process.
Inspired by the "Trigger System" of "Mikagura Girls Detective Agency" (Human), Sun has stripped away all redundant choices and branching paths. Instead, you simply pull the trigger whenever something catches your eye. You will head into the finale armed with 26 bullets of information to solve the mystery.
In the final stages of the game, you will use the Tags you have collected to conduct your deduction.
During this phase, you consume your "bullets" to advance the conversation.
There are no Game Overs, even if your deduction is incorrect.
That said, as a mystery novel adventure, deduction remains the core of the experience. Uncover the three mysteries and reveal the truth behind the Sun.
